Transportation section is known as one of the biggest fuel energy consuming sections, based on existing data & information. Annual energy consumption in this section has reached to 233.4 million Barrels per year (in 1383, solar year) from 12.5 million Barrels per year (in 1346, solar year) (about 18.5 times). Existing information - 7 percent relative consumption increasing per year - is evidence that energy consumption management is the great matter of importance in this section.
Regarding to the opportunities of decreasing the fuel consumption trend in transportation section and promoting the energy efficiency, fuel conservation management of transportation section was established in may 2001 and started it,s activities in transportation methods promotion , investigations , modification and selection of high techniques in light and heavy vehicle manufacturing and also fuel quality promotion divisions. In fact the major consideration in this section is fuel conservation and also pollutants reduction as the second goal.
